What You’ll Need For Axis Direct Algo Trading​

AlgoTest Account​

You need to have an AlgoTest account. If you don’t have an AlgoTest account, you can create it by clicking on this link.

Axis Direct Account​

You need to have a Demat account with Axis Direct. If you don't have an account, create an account on Axis Direct here. Make sure to activate F&O on your account.

Connecting Axis Direct with AlgoTest​

Go to AlgoTest, login to your account. Click on the Broker Setup at the top right.

You’ll see a dashboard as shown below. Put "Axis Direct” in the search bar.

You will see the option to set up “Axis Direct” as shown in the image. Click on the setup.

You will be directed to the page shown in the image below. Now, add the name for this API connection and add your Client ID. Click on “Add Axis Direct”.

To find the Client ID, follow these steps:

  1. Please go to this link and login to your account.
  2. Click on profile from top right, copy the client ID.
  3. Paste the client ID above.

Once you are done, click on Setup.

You have successfully added Axis Direct broker to your AlgoTest Account.

Note: Multi-API is supported.

Axis Direct is a full-service brokerage arm of Axis Bank, offering equity trading, derivatives, mutual funds, IPOs, and other investment products. It’s known for its integrated 3-in-1 account setup, seamless banking integration, and wide retail reach.

What You Can Do with Axis Direct on AlgoTest​

With Axis Direct’s integration on AlgoTest, you can:

  • Execute backtested strategies directly in your Axis Direct account
  • Trade equities and equity derivatives (options/futures)
  • Monitor live trades and manage positions through AlgoTest’s platform

Brokerage Charges​

Axis Direct follows a slab-based brokerage model, and charges may vary depending on the plan chosen (Standard, Value, etc.). Typical charges include:

  • Equity Delivery: â‚ą0
  • Equity Intraday: Flat â‚ą20 per executed order
  • Equity Futures: â‚ą20 per executed order
  • Equity Options: â‚ą20 per executed order

Yes, Axis Direct operates as a 3-in-1 account with Axis Bank. A bank account is required to use their services.

2. What segments are supported via AlgoTest?
Equity, equity intraday, futures, and options are supported. Commodity and currency segments are currently not integrated.

3. Is any additional permission needed to enable AlgoTest integration?
You’ll need to authorize AlgoTest access via API and complete any required token generation steps within the AlgoTest platform.

4. Can I automate trades with Axis Direct on AlgoTest?
Yes, you can deploy automated strategies that execute trades live in your Axis Direct account once integration is complete.
