What You'll Need To Connect to Motilal XTS​

AlgoTest Account​

You need to have an AlgoTest account. If you don't have an AlgoTest account, you can create it by clicking on this link.

Motilal Demat Account​

You need to have an active Demat account in demat account in Motilal. If you don't have an account, Click here to open an account in Motilal . Make sure to activate F&O on your account.

Motilal XTS Terminal ​

You need to have XTS Terminal activated on your account.

XTS Terminal and XTS API Activation​

In order to use the XTS API, you will first need to activate the XTS Terminal and XTS API on your broker account. Then, you can use the API Keys on AlgoTest to connect your broker with AlgoTest. To accomplish this, follow the simple steps provided below.

  • To activate the XTS Terminal on your Motilal account, you first need to request XTS Terminal activation at moxtsapi@motilaloswal.com from your registered email address. Use "XTS API Creation for AlgoTest" as the mail subject and include "Please create my XTS API with the following details:" as the mail body. Be sure to mention the client name and client ID as shown in the image below.

  • You will get XTS Terminal ID Password, XTS API Dashboard ID Password and API Keys (Interactive Order API Keys & Market Data API Keys) on mail within 24 working hours.

    Note :- XTS Web Terminal is a trading terminal where you can manage your Algo position or can execute manually. XTS API Dashboard is used to create and manage API.

  • After receiving our API keys from the broker via email, we will use them in AlgoTest to set up the broker. In some cases, if the broker doesn't provide you with API keys via email, you can also sign up on the Motilal XTS API Portal and create the required API manually if needed.

Connecting Motilal XTS with AlgoTest​

  • Go to AlgoTest.in. Login your account. Click on the profile icon at the top right and select Broker Setup.

  • Choose the broker and then click on the "Setup" button, as indicated in the image below.

  • Please make sure to have the Market Data API Key, Market Data Secret Key, Interactive Data API Key, and Interactive Data API Secret on hand in order to add Motilal XTS in AlgoTest. Copy the API Keys received via email during the XTS API activation process and paste them into the corresponding fields. After that, click on the setup button as illustrated in the image below. For the connection name, feel free to enter any random name.

  • We have successfully added Motilal XTS to our AlgoTest Account. Now we just have to login to the Motilal account in AlgoTest. To log in, click on the Login button.

Note :- Broker Login timing is 08:30 AM to 3:28 PM

  • Once you are logged in, the system will display a status message confirming your login status, as shown in the image below.
