Replay Trades on Strategy Builder​

We're thrilled to introduce our new feature - Replay Trades, a powerful new feature on Algotest's Strategy Builder and on Live Trade/Algo Trade page. With Replay Trades, you can revisit and replay your trading strategies, starting from your very first trade. This feature enables you to thoroughly analyse and refine your strategies for better insights and performance.

How to use Replay Trades On the Strategy Builder​

Replay Trades on the Strategy Builder lets you simulate and review your past manual trades with a detailed payoff graph. This visual representation helps you analyse trade outcomes, refine strategies, and improve future decision-making. Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how to use Replay Trades feature on the Strategy Builder.

Step 1: Open Strategy Builder​

Login to AlgoTest.in and click on the Strategy Builder button from the top navigation bar.

Step 2: Access Saved or Deployed Strategies​

Click on the Strategies button to expand and view your list of saved or deployed strategies.

You’ll see your strategies categorized index-wise (e.g., NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, FINNIFTY, etc.).
Expand the desired index to locate the strategy you want to replay.

Step 3: Select the Strategy​

Click on the strategy name you wish to replay.
This will open the selected strategy in the Strategy Builder view, displaying its parameters and previous trades.

Step 4: Start Replay​

Click on the Replay button located above the Positions tab to begin the strategy replay.

Once you click on Replay, the system will import your selected strategy.
A popup will appear confirming:

Step 5: Replay Controls​

Once the strategy is imported, the Replay Simulator will open — allowing you to navigate through your past trades.

Replay Controls Overview​

  • Go to First Trade → Starts the replay from the very first executed trade of your strategy.
  • Next Trade → Moves the simulation to the next trade in sequence.
  • Previous Trade → Returns to the previous trade.
  • Autoplay → Automatically replays all trades in sequence.
    • You can adjust the autoplay speed using the dropdown (choose between minutes, hours, or days per second).
  • Simulation Bar → Drag the bar to any point in time to simulate the state of your trades at that specific moment.

Step 6: View Positions and Adjustments​

During replay, you can monitor your Positions tab to view active, upcoming, and adjusted trades.
This helps visualize how your strategy evolved over time — including every adjustment or new position added.

Places where you can find replay button to replay your past trades​

  • Go to the positions tab, and click on three dots to find the replay button:

  • Go to Algo Trade tab and you'll find the below mentioned screen. You can replay your trades from there:

  • Scroll down to the portfolio section and you can find a replay button for the portfolio there:

  • You can see the replay button for a specific strategy as well on the same page:

  • You can replay any of your past trades as well.

  • Click on History:
