Muhurat Trading 2024 for FREE on AlgoTest​

We are thrilled to announce that you can participate in the 2024 Muhurat Trading session on our platform!

Muhurat Trading is a special, one-hour trading session held on Diwali, marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year. This event is considered auspicious, with traders and investors participating to symbolise prosperity and wealth for the coming year. While the session is brief, it holds deep cultural significance, blending tradition with modern finance.

Many see it as an opportunity to make long-term investments, believing trades made during this time will bring good fortune. Accompanied by rituals like Lakshmi Puja, Muhurat Trading is more than just a financial event---it's a celebration of hope and new beginnings.

Intraday strategy creation for Muhurat trading session​

For the Muhurat Trading Session you have to create a new strategy from the positional Tab in the backtest.

You will not be able to activate your current intraday strategies.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Login to your AlgoTest account and click on the Create strategy button from the dashboard page as shown below.

  • You will be redirected to the backtest page then click on the positional button as shown in the image below.

Use the following settings for timing :  

Entry timing - 9:16 AM

Exit Time - 3:29 PM

  • Make sure to select 0 trading days before expiry in entry and in exit both as shown in the image below.

  • Rest of the settings will remain the same. You just have to add legs in your strategy and save by clicking on the save strategy button as shown below.

Timing of broker login and strategy activation​

Pre-Open5:45 PM - 6 PM
Muhurat Trade6 PM - 7 PM
Broker Login Time5 PM
Strategy Activation5 PM
BTST/Positional Restart Time5 PM

You can login to your broker as usual.​

For Strategy activation follow these steps:​

  • From the top navbar hover on the algo trade page and select  Positional/BTST Algo Trade. 

It will redirect you to the Positional Algo trade page. Find your Muhurat strategy under Positional & BTST Strategies.. 

  • Once you click on the activate button it will show you a dialogue box as shown in the image below.

In this Box set the fields as follows:

  • Select your broker

  • Entry Date: 01/11/2024

  • Entry Time: Between 6:01 pm - 6:59 PM

  • Exit date: 01/11/2024

  • Exit time: Between 6:01 pm - 6:59 PM

Make sure Exit time is post Entry time.

  • Click on the activate button and your strategy will be activated and it will be visible on the positional algo trade page as a running strategy as shown below.
